Last week saw Lottie return to preschool and as a result, she was exhausted. I’ve had to wake her up from afternoon naps, as I think she’d have slept all night otherwise. And when I woke her up on Thursday, she was still sleepy, it was pouring with rain, so it seemed the perfect opportunity to have a girlie afternoon with all the goodies and Snuggle Sac sent to us by Room to Grow recently.
Room to Grow is an online retailer who sells pretty much everything you could need for a child’s bedroom, from the furniture, right down to the accessories. They kindly sent us their Snuggle Sac to review and use as part of our sleepover.
We’ve recently been struggling to find suitable bedding for Lottie. She is still in a cotbed at the moment. We took the sides off when she was two, but she just refused to stay in bed and/or go to sleep. So we ended up putting them back on. She also still sleeps in a sleeping bag. She constantly throws a duvet off and ends up waking up because she’s cold, and she just loves her sleeping bags. But we’re at the stage now, where they are getting too small for her.
About Snuggle Sac
So when we heard about Snuggle Sac, it seemed the perfect solution between a sleeping bag and a duvet. It’s like a grown up sleeping bag, but the zip only opens part way down. So the child has the covers more securely fitted over them. It also has space in the head area to insert a pillow if you want to. This stops it from being thrown out of the cot at every given opportunity. The whole thing comes in a tote bag, so would be perfect to throw in the car for holidays, or sleepovers.
The Snuggle Sac is made from the softest fleece material, but has a cotton layer inside, which I think prevents children from getting too hot as it’s more breathable. It’s a simple idea, but it’s exactly what we had been looking for.
Although, I think we may need to buy another one for Frankie too.
Our Snuggle Sac sleepover
Having a PJ day and watching movies was one of the things on our summer bucket list that we never got round to (how fast did the summer holidays go?!) So it was nice to spend an afternoon at home with the girls. We got into our PJs and they cuddled up in the Snuggle Sac on the sofa.
Then we opened up the box of goodies that Room to Grow had sent for our sleepover. Popcorn, sweets, games, toys and a DVD. I could do with a weekly subscription to this sort of box. They were over the moon with their supplies, with smiles on even the sleepiest face in the house.
Both the girls loved the Snuggle Sac and sat together on it playing with their new game and toy and watching the DVD. It’s difficult to describe, but it’s really cosy, but not too hot.
And when you’ve had enough of your big sister, you can simply get on the floor with the Snuggle Sac, or play peekaboo with it.
Our verdict
I think the fact that Frankie wants a Snuggle Sac (and I wish they did adult sized ones) is testament to how much we love it. It’s super soft, portable, easy to use, and the perfect transition from a sleeping bag to a duvet. Although, now we have this, I’m not sure we even need to worry about a duvet. It’s big enough for a single bed and is machine washable and it’s endorsed by the Children’s Sleep Charity, so it’s everything we need and more.
Aw so comfy and cosy – looks fab! Happy smiles all round!
Thanks lovely, it’s so soft! I’m quite jealous x
I wish they did adult sized ones too!! It looks very cosy;)
Adult ones would be amazing, especially for sofa snuggling! x
It looks very cozy. It kind of reminds me of these things called the snuggie that they sell over here in the states. They were really popular for awhile š
They sound great. This is super cosy! xx
This looks super cosy, I can see why your daughter loves it. I love the colour too and would easily fit in with any bedroom.
Definitely! My little one’s nursery is grey and white stars, so I think we’ll be investing in another one. They have a few different designs too xx
omg, that looks so comfy, love the idea of a sleepover at home how cute, i need to have one of these days!
You should! We’ll be having them more often I think, it was great fun xx
Oh what fun and these look super cosy and perfect for when your travelling as well! We travel a fair bit and something like this would be really useful
Laura x
Absolutely! I think they would be perfect for travelling – very light too x
I have never heard of these but it sounds amazing! My toddler is always kicking his duvet off but is too big for his sleeping bags so this looks like a great option. I think Iād like one for myself too!xx
That’s exactly like Lottie and this is the perfect in-between xx
It looks so cosy, can you get them in adult sizes?! I think it looks perfect, if my children were smaller I’d get one for them both, as they are such little wrigglers and always kick the blankets off!
Sadly no adult sizes :-(. They are big enough for a single bed though, so may still be good for your little ones xx
