It’s been a long week and I’m very pleased to say that my word of the week this week is:
As of half an hour ago, I am officially on maternity leave. Woo hoo! I’m so relieved to be able to relax a little bit and catch up on all the personal life that you don’t get time for when you work full time and are heavily pregnant.
I started off the week quite poorly, but antibitotics have kicked in and I’ve been playing catch up ever since. I actually finished my last task for work at 5.24pm – great timing and such a fab feeling. If I wasn’t pregnant, I think I would have popped a champagne cork.
As I’ve been at home this week, I need to pop into the office and handover on Monday morning, which shouldn’t take too long, then I am well and truly free.
Hopefully Little R-M will hold on for a bit longer before making an appearance so that I can get my feet up and spend a bit of time being a lady who lunches.
Maternity leave certainly makes the whole thing seem a bit more real and I just can’t wait to meet our little one. I feel that now work is off my mind, I can start to get really excited.
I *might* have already started making lists of what I need to do next week, and I guess the biggest thing is move house! Still no date for an exchange, but we have been told it is on course for next week, with a completion the following week, leaving us one week before due date. I do love a challenge.
But first, I have a lovely weekend planned with loved ones to celebrate my birthday on Sunday and I plan to fully enjoy it as a free woman!
Have fabulous weekends all.
Wow house moving is a massive event! Good luck on that and its so nice that you finally have your leave! #wotw

Happy maternity leave!
Good luck with the house move, I really don’t envy you dealing with that and a bump, ,especially in the heat!
Thank you lovely! I think Mr M will be doing a lot of packing and moving while I direct operations! Hee hee xx
