Autumn is finally here, and that means it’s time to break out the sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, and cosy fires. It’s also a great time to stock up on essentials for the cooler weather. Here are five must-haves for dads this autumn:
A good overshirt
As the temperatures start to drop, a good overshirt is a must. Look for one that’s made of a warm but breathable fabric for those warm days and cooler evenings. Mens overshirts, also known as shackets, are a great investment for any wardrobe. Additionally, they can be worn in various ways, over a tee, under a blazer, or on their own.
A waterproof jacket:
A waterproof jacket is essential for keeping dry during autumn showers. But don’t just go for any old raincoat; look for one with a comfortable lining so you can wear it even when it’s not raining. And make sure it has enough pockets to hold all your essentials (keys, phone, wallet, etc.). You’ll be glad you have it when the weather takes a turn for the worse. A waterproof jacket will also be great for those early morning dog walks that, as the man of the house, have now become your responsibility.
A pair of jeans that fit well:
Nothing beats a good pair of jeans when it comes to comfort and style. And while we’re on the subject of fit, make sure you get yourself measured before you buy. Nothing looks worse than a pair of jeans that are too baggy or too tight. Instead, find a pair that fits well and looks great, and you’ll be set all autumn long. In addition, men’s ripped jeans are extremely popular this season.
A quality pair of boots:
Autumn is the perfect time to invest in a quality pair of boots. Look for something made of leather or another durable material; you’ll be wearing them almost every day from October to March, so they need to be able to withstand some wear and tear. Plus, a good pair of boots will last for years if you take care of them properly. Make sure they’re comfortable enough to walk in because you’re most likely going to be spending a lot of time running after kids outdoors before the winter sets in.
A cosy fireplace:
There’s nothing quite like relaxing by a cosy fire on a cool autumn evening. If you don’t have a fireplace at home, consider investing in a portable fire pit, they’re surprisingly affordable and easy to find. This is a great way to spend time with family and friends before the weather becomes completely unbearable outdoors. All you need to make it fun is some wood and marshmallows, and you’re all set.
So there you have it; five autumn essentials for dads. With these items in your arsenal, you’ll be ready for anything the season throws your way. So get out there and enjoy the cool weather while it lasts.
