So having exchanged on our house purchase last week, this week has been filled mainly with:
It’s truly amazing how much ‘stuff’ two people can fit into a two-bedroom flat. I dread to think about ever moving from a three-bedroom house with a garden. I think I’d like to stay there forever!
Today is my due date – eeeeek – and Mr M is working all weekend until completion day on Tuesday, so we decided to spend the weekend packing up the flat and moving it to my mum and dad’s garage just in case Little R-M makes his or her appearance in the meantime.
It’s probably helped my nesting needs and has given me a great chance to declutter everything, so that we are only moving what we need.
I cannot wait to start making our new house a home. The most exciting bit for me is to have a garden – I’m an outdoors girl really and I can’t wait to have my own outdoor space. We only have a small balcony at the moment, so we won’t know ourselves in the new house.
Mr M is planning what he will do with the interiors already and is constantly on Pinterest and eBay looking for ideas and inspiration.
Although I can’t wait to move, there is a little tinge of sadness about leaving this flat. We have been here four years and this home has seen many of our big life events, including our engagement, our marriage, and finding out we were expecting our first child, so it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I think there will be a bit of sadness as we close the door for the last time, but as that door closes, another opens to the next chapter in our lives.
Wishing you all the best with the completion and the imminent arrival. We left the home we got engaged, married and brought our three children home to, and it was tinged with sadness but it is wonderful to start a new chapter, and have memories to hold close. x
Thank you Debbie! Yes, I’m looking forward to the next chapter xx
All the very best with the move, the imminent arrival of Little R-M and the new beginning in your new home 🙂
Thanks so much Karen xx

Ah, we moved from a 2 bed flat of five years to our present home. I know what you mean, as it’s sad to leave a home packed with special times, but I was so excited to be getting a garden and bigger space! Sounds like you’re all set now 🙂 Thanks for sharing with #WotW x
It’s definitely more excitement than sadness – bringing back lots of lovely memories too! thanks for hosting xx #wotw
Oh such exciting times, with the move and the baby – fancy your due date being today. I do know what you mean about being a bit sad to leave, we were similar. Left our home which had all of the big life moments, including bring our two babies back to after they’d been born. Our old house will always have good memories but there are so many new ones to be made – you’ll love your new house!
Best of luck with everything xx

Thanks so much Tracey, you’re so right – lots more memories to make. I wonder is the baby will come home to the flat or to the new house… xx #wotw
Wow you are brave, moving house and heavily pregnant, go you! Hope it all goes smoothly, when we moved from out flat to our house I was amazed how much we had accumulated over a few years, now we are bursting at the seams in our 3 bed house haha.

Haha, where does it all come from Helen? I’m starting to worry I’m a bit of a hoarder! Yes it’s all a bit mad, but we had hoped to be in by now – all the best laid plans! xx #wotw
