Feeling: It’s been a week of ups and downs here this week. Firstly, I’m a bit late with my update as I had my baby shower yesterday and was just too tired to turn on the computer last night. I had such a lovely day and feel so loved and lucky to have the friends and family that I do.
Anyway, back to the beginning of the week – I had the most uncomfortable day on Monday which ended up in immense back pain to the point where I couldn’t even get comfortable in bed. The baby was squirming around and wouldn’t settle, which ended me up with a dreadful night’s sleep and a very tired Tuesday. By Tuesday morning, though, the pain had passed and when I mentioned it to the midwife, she said that the baby was probably pressing on a nerve.
The res of the week was quite calm. I definitely can’t do as much now without needing to rest, but I’m still managing to work and do my horse, see friends etc, so it hasn’t quite beaten me yet.
Constipation continues to be an issue but I’m sure you don’t want to know any more about that!
I am so tearful at the moment, that just a nice text, or somebody being kind can set me off, so you can imagine what the stress of buying a house is doing to me…. Poor Mr M is all I will say.
Appointments: I had my 32 week midwife appointment this week and all is well. The bump has slowed down it’s growth, but was still slightly above where it should be, so she isn’t worried. We also spoke about a birth plan, which I’ll be writing more about later this week. I always thought this was something you would do with the midwife, but apparently I do it on my own and there is information in my notes, so I’ve been reading up on options.
Looking: The bump suddenly dropped this weekend. I kept thinking it was shrinking, which was panicking me a bit, but I asked Mr M and he says it’s the same size, just quite a bit lower, so it probably feels smaller. What a relief.
Craving: Nothing this week.
Sleeping: Is a bit hit and miss to be honest, but I am getting some. I’ve had a bit of insomnia the past few days, which is annoying when I am so tired.
Baby is the size of: A Napa cabbage. Whatever that is when it’s at home.
I hope you had a lovely baby shower! So jealous your midwife mentioned birth plans to you, I’m pretty sure I’m being left to it this time as its my second xx
It was lovely thanks! She didn’t – I asked her as nobody had even spoken of them to me from day one – seems very odd, but you are just left to do it yourself with no guidance! xx
It’s great to see your midwife is happy to talk to your about your birth plan, I can remember mine wanting to leave it until the last minute. I hope your baby shower went well and you were spoil rotten.
I think I’m a bit too pushy sometimes as I panic and have to get things done! lol. Thank you lovely, it was a really fab day – felt very loved and lucky xx
