Word of the week: Light

After the clocks changing last weekend, my word of the week this week is…

Light

I am absolutely loving the lighter evenings, they seem to give you the perception of having so much more time and I’m not constantly trying to rush rush rush to get everything done.

When I work my later hours at work, as I have been this week, I don’t get back to the stables until around 6.30-7pm. During the winter, this signals a mad rush to get all the chores done, get the horse in, change rugs, pick out feet and hurry home, as it’s pitch dark, cold and miserable.

This week has been a whole different ball game. I’ve sauntered about, leisurely doing what I need to do, and even spending half an hour with Ben most nights. He’s had a total hair restyle and looks lovely and a few hours of getting his winter coat out now that he is molting.

Then it’s a steady meander home and perhaps even a quick cuppa on the balcony before starting dinner – bliss.

Roll on the warm summer evenings when we can eat outside and generally chill out.
