Ever since I started blogging, I’ve loved reading other people’s Me and Mine posts. It’s such a lovely linky. Then when we found out I was pregnant, I was really looking forward to joining in once our baby arrived.
Well, tomorrow Lottie will be four weeks old. I cannot believe she is that old already. I know it’s a bit of a cliche, but time really is disappearing so fast and I am desperately trying to savour these days while she is so very little.
I must admit that I had grand ideas about our Me and Mine photos being glossy ‘OK-style’ pics of us all looking groomed and polished and bathing in the beauty of our new family. The reality is that I rarely get a shower before 10am. If we aren’t going anywhere, then I wash my hair and scrape it back while it’s still wet and make-up is a rarity at the moment. It’s all about Lottie right now, and I’m cool with that – it’s exactly how it should be.
So my Me and Mine photos are slightly grainy iPhone selfies, but they are super special to me as they are the first of our little family together.
August has been a roller coaster of a month, which has seen us move into a gorgeous new house, welcome our little girl into the world and start to learn how to be parents. It’s been a steep learning curve, I am shattered and I’m still not sure I’ve got the hang of being mum, but I wouldn’t change a second of it for the world and I’ll never forget this special time.
Lottie is growing and changing by the day and I don’t want to miss any of it.
