Lottie Loves: Theraline Plushy Moon

Lottie and I have had a bit of a ‘journey’ when it comes to feeding. I’ll write more about it in another post, but we settled in the end on combination feeding with formula and expressed breast milk.

If one word could sum up our journey so far, it would be inconsistent.

But one product in the feeding regime that has been consistent throughout Lottie’s little life so far has been the Theraline Plushy Moon. We love this pillow.

As the name suggests, the Plushy Moon is a crescent moon shape and is made from THE softest fabric, with a plush fabric on one side and a more stretchy material on the other. Both equally snuggly.

The Plushy Moon goes everywhere with us – it comes upstairs with us when we go to bed, to be used as a support on our nursing chair for night feeds, then back down with us in the morning to be used on the sofa for feeds during the day. It’s become a bit like a comfort blanket. I’d take it out with us if I could!

I use it to support my arm while I feed her, and quite often she will go back to sleep lying on it. The filling is thousands of teeny tiny beads, which sort of mold around you when you rest on it, so it makes a really lovely, comfy support.

I got the pillow just a few days before Lottie arrived, and I used it at night to support my enormous belly and cuddle up to and it was lovely. There is something about the fabrics which seems to warm up, so it’s a bit like cuddling a person. As I couldn’t get near Mr M by that point, it was a lovely cuddle substitute!

In the early days, when I was trying to breastfeed, I’d always make sure it was close by me before I started to feed. Then when ( or rather, if) I managed to get Lottie latched, I would grab it and pop it under her head to support her and keep her in position. It was a life saver as it would take so long to get her to latch, I didn’t want her to move a muscle in fear of her coming off the breast. Again, the pillow would shape around her head and keep her exactly where she was, in pure comfort.

And now, as well as using it for Lottie, I quite often cuddle up to it if I get the chance for a daytime nap on the sofa. It really is multi purpose.

You can also wash the Plushy Moon – invaluable when you have a newborn, as it will inevitably get some sick, milk etc spilt on it. I haven’t washed mine yet, but at least you don’t have the worry of it being ruined if there are any accidents.

I couldn’t recommend this pillow highly enough and there have been a few tussles over it if Mr M is home and we both have a nap when Lottie goes down. It’s mine though!

We’ve got one too and we are still using it now. G can still get caught off balance and it’s great to topple back on. Best all rounder pillow ever. I love Lottie. I wish we loves nearer so we could have little baby meet ups 🙂 xx

Awesome aren’t they! I’m currently reclined on mine on the sofa! Lol. Aaw thanks honey, she is a cutie (although she isn’t friends with sleep which we may need to have a chat about! Lol). I know – would be fab if we could meet up for coffee on mat leave! 🙁 xx
