Lottie Loves: NSA UK 3 in 1 All Weather Protector

I spent hours while I was pregnant poring over lists of what I needed for our impending arrival, asking friends with children what they suggested and fretting about whether I had enough sleepsuits, what I would do if the weather changed (August in the UK is a minefield when planning outfits) and generally worrying, because I do love a worry and I hate being unprepared.

So when I was getting ready to go out with Lottie one day and it rained for the first time, I was left cursing myself. Our all singing all dancing pram had a raincover, which was in the pram basket in readiness for such an occasion, but our car seat had no protection whatsoever.

I went out of the front door doing some sort of funny walk run action to try and get her into the car as soon as I could without her getting too wet and realised my planning had failed me as I clicked her car seat in and saw her soaking wet knees. She wasn’t at all bothered by the way.

So when I was offered the NSA UK 3 in 1 All Weather Protector for review, I jumped at the chance.

The clever little product will protect your baby from showers, UV rays and insects. I clearly had not considered all of these problems until I came face to face with them.

The cover fits onto most prams and car seats and is so easy to use. It has a pop-up tent style design, so that when you take it out of the bag, it just opens up and fits over the seat. I initially thought I would use it for our Maxi Cosi Pebble car seat as our pram had its own rain cover, but in fact, we’ve ended up using it for both as its so much easier and quicker to pop on in a shower on if the sun is stronger than you anticipated.2015-10-06 11.32.11

The splashproof rain cover (not shown in this photo as we were only running from car to supermarket) zips away when not in use, so that you have the sun protection and mesh insect net in use. I’ve found that this also protects from rain if you are only out for a minute or so (front door to car or car to shop etc.)

I love the fact that it has a zipped window, so that if you are going shopping, you can open up the front to access your baby without having to take the whole thing off.

It’s even got an opening for the handle of your car seat so that you can pick it up easily and safely.

The All Weather Protector is only £16.99, which I think is a total bargain as it’s so versatile and protects against all weathers. I think this will come into its own for us when Ben the horse starts to come in at night and Lottie and I are at the stables in the winter. I don’t leave the house without it any more.

That sounds really handy. There’s nothing worse than trying to fit a raincover when the heavens open.
