Introducing Frankie

So it seems my children are much like me and have both started life fashionably late. Bump number two made its grand entrance into the world at 41+1 and it’s a….

Girl! Unlike her sister, Frankie Mabel arrived into the world rather quickly nearly three weeks ago, weighing just over 8lb.

In time I will write my full birth story but as a summary, it was rather quick, very intense and incredibly healing after our last birth experience.

So the main girl – Frankie so far seems super chilled and relaxed. She can cry with the best of them but seems to save it for times of real starvation and awful wind. Oh and if she is put down. In true newborn style she would far rather sleep on me or Mr M than in any of the many things we have spent a small fortune on for her to sleep in. This time though, I know this phase will pass and before I know it, she’ll be pushing me away as she is too busy playing. So for now, I’m savouring the snuggles and have just started using the Amawrap so that I can get on with looking after her sister and getting chores done, but still have her close while she snoozes.

Physically she seems longer and more slight than her sister but she is packing in the ozs and at last weigh-in, was already 4oz heavier than her birth weight. Just like Lottie, she has a mop of hair and huge eyes.

Speaking of Lottie, I really needn’t have worried about how she would cope as she has just been perfect the last few weeks and has adapted amazingly well. We had slight meltdowns over the first day or so but since then she has accepted Frankie and is now going over to her basket or pram and having a look at her regularly. She also gives her toys sometimes which is super cute. She is a little nervous around her and refuses to touch her but I’m not sure that’s necessarily a bad thing.

Managing two under two has been stressful at times, but we are starting to find our way and I’m sure in time it will become easier and easier.

I also needn’t have worried about loving another baby as much as I love Lottie. As soon as I saw this little bundle, my heart grew and my love multiplied. In the same way her sister does, she melts my heart and sometimes makes me a little tearful about just how beautiful she is. I am blessed with two beautiful girls and could not be happier.

Awww she is gorgeous and I love Lottie peeping into the basket. Lizzie won’t touch our baby and I’m relieved too because George is a little too keen and there was a latching on to a snotty nose incident ?
I love the pink cardigan. What a beaut. I’m going to go and look up the wrap as I am getting nothing done xxx

Ahhhh, Katie, she is absolutely beautiful. I am glad you had a good labour and it was healing after Lottie’s birth. I had the same experience with Little Mister H and it really helped me put Little Miss H’s birth in the past. Congratulations once again lovely. I am so happy for you and your gorgeous family. Hugs Lucy xxxx
