Happy days: First steps and new boots

We’ve had a really nice week here. Some potentially fabulous news came for my dad, but we won’t find out for sure for another few weeks, so I don’t want to share and jinx it in any way, but after a really tough few months for my family, it’s given us some real positivity and something to make us smile. It could be so huge for him, that everything else feels a little inconsequential in comparison, but we’ve had some lovely moments to share.

Things we’ve been loving this week:

First steps: Finally, Lottie managed to take her first steps on Sunday. They are wobbly and a little kamikaze at times, but she is so proud of herself. Not as proud as we are though! It’s so lovely to see her grow and develop, but it does leave a little lump in my throat that my baby is growing up so quickly.

Roast dinner: We went out to our local pub on Sunday and had a lovely roast – the first in ages. We stayed in the village all day and had time together just the three of us, which was lovely when all else is so busy in life.

Happy Halloween: We popped out a pumpkin on Monday evening and Lottie absolutely loved seeing all the children for trick or treating. Every time I opened the door, she grabbed Mr M and was literally running to the front door, squealing with delight at the costumes. So cute.

New boots: I popped to Primark this week to try and find a coat that would fit over the growing bump as none of my usual ones do up. I failed on that mission, but I did find some leapord print ankle boots in my size, which I had been coveting for a while after seeing them on someone’s Instagram feed (sorry, I can’t remember who it was). I absolutely love them.

A good old catch up: Lottie and I went out for lunch with a friend we haven’t seen for ages – so nice to have a good old catch up.

Christmas shopping: I’ve got super organised and started doing my Christmas shopping this week. I’ve got a big chunk done already and more will arrive with the postie this week. Will I be done before December?? I’m usually still wrapping on Christmas Eve.

A cosy stable: As the weather has got so chilly this week, Ben the horse has started to come in at night and although it means lots of extra work and being quite organised with our days, so that we get there in the light to get him in with Lottie, it’s so nice to see him all snuggled up in his winter rug and big fluffy straw bed.

Ooh I am loving those boots! I am not brave enough to wear something so bold but I do adore them! Thank you so much for joining in #HappyDaysLinky x
