Happy days: A first birthday and family time

We have had some very happy days this week. Mainly because our beautiful daughter turned one, and Mr M has been off work to help us to celebrate. We’ve had such a lovely week together, if a little busy (I think tomorrow may well be a lazy Sunday in our house as we are all a bit burnt out) and made some really special memories.

Our happy days this week have included:

A new DSLR camera – I’ve wanted a proper camera for years. I asked for vouchers for my brithday last year, but we ended up spending most of them on kitchen appliances as we had just moved house. So I have been saving ever since, and finally, with the help of some birthday money, I bought the Nikon D3300 on Sunday – just in time for our week of celebrations.

Family Sunday – last week we had a really lovely quiet Sunday, just the three of us. We went out shopping, popped to the pub garden and went for a lovely walk.

Mr M being home – Since Tuesday, Mr M has been off work and it’s been so lovely to have him around. He has also had some time with Lottie while I was at hospital with my dad on Thursday and you can see the love between those two!

Birthday – Our beautiful daughter turned one on Tuesday. We spent the morning at home opening presents and playing with her new toys, then we went to a local farm in the afternoon and she had such a lovely day.

Garden – Mr M and I have been spending nap times and evenings working on our garden makeover and we are very nearly there now. I may scream if I have to paint another fence panel though.

Weather – Until today, the sun has had his hat on and it’s been glorious here.

Italian deli – We discovered a new Italian deli in a nearby town and had a delicious lunch with Lottie, then bought lots of yummy food for our party today.

Family party – Today, my parents and my sister and her family came over for a birthday party for Lottie. It’s been really special to have some family time and Lottie has had another fab day being thoroughly spoilt.

Lottie standing up in her cot – And when we went to get the little lady from her nap today, she was standing up in her cot, really rather pleased with herself. Katy told me that standing up would be next, when she finally sat herself up in her cot, and she was right!

Happy Birthday Lottie, such a clever girl standing up. Congratulations on finally getting the camera, especially after having to spend all your vouchers on boring grown up stuff like kitchen appliances.
