Happy days: A birthday party and a scan

We’ve had an exciting week here with a few big milestones happening. And in between times, I’ve been starting to nest at home. I think it’s a mixture between pregnancy, autumn arriving and the fact our decorating is done.

So what’s made me happy this week?

Getting our house back – We’ve had a decorator in the last week or so, painting a few rooms and replacing skirting. And he’s finished. Firstly the house looks fab, I’m so pleased with it. And secondly, we have our house back. It was worth the upheaval, but it’s tricky looking after a baby at home when rooms are off limits. Especially one that is desperate to walk. All. Day. Long.

Daddy’s home – Mr M has had a few days off work and Lottie has been in her element with him all to herself. To be honest, I’ve rather enjoyed it too!daddy-snuggles

My mum’s 70th – My lovely mum turned 70 last Sunday and we had a lunch party for her. Originally we were going to have a big party, but as she and my dad have been so poorly recently, she decided she just wanted close family and friends. There were 12 adults and her four granddaughters, and it was a really lovely day. She enjoyed her day and it was so nice to have everyone together to celebrate.

Sunny days – Autumn might be here, but it’s dry and sunny and we’ve been getting out and about. Lottie loves watching trees and now that they are changing colour, she is just mesmerised.

20-week scan – Yesterday I turned 20 weeks pregnant and we headed to the hospital for our anomaly scan. The sonographer went through everything so thoroughly and explained what she was looking at the whole way through, so we got a really good look at baby. I’m so relieved to say that everything looks fine from the scan and all the measurements etc are average. It’s getting very real and exciting now.

Cousins – While I was at the hospital, my sister kindly looked after Lottie and her and her cousin had a whale of a time playing together.

Horsey girls – The grass is disappearing at the stables so the horses are having more hay and food and Lottie has been loving helping me out there. She adores the horses.
