From a mother to another

Not long after we had Lottie that the devastating images of the little Syrian refugee boy’s body washed up on the beach in Turkey.

This, I’m pretty sure, was shocking to everyone who saw it.

Before we’d had Lottie, I would have been devestated to see such an image.

But after becoming a mum, the image had a different impact – one of fear. I’m in no doubt that the boy’s parents were doing everything they possibly could to make a better life for him. All parents want to make the best possible life for their children. But in escaping terror and searching for a better life, they in fact led their son to the ultimate danger.

It was then that I realised just how fragile life is. How we must do everything in our power to protect our little ones and keep them safe. My family is lucky that we live in luxury compared to many in the world and I wish all babies could have the priveleges that my daughter has.

So when I saw JoJo Maman Bebe’s new campaign From a Mother to Another, I loved the idea. The company is helping vulnerable families in the UK via the Trussell Trusts food banks, and Syrian refugees living in Lebanon.
