Bump #2: 26 weeks pregnant

You’ll be pleased to hear I’m not going to moan quite as much this week! My back is sooooo much better now. Still pretty painful, but compared to what it was, the improvement is amazing. I would fully recommend anyone suffering during pregnancy, to find a specialist osteopath as it has really made the world of difference.

I went back to see the osteo on Friday and as the injury itself is improving, in a weird way, I quite enjoyed it! Lying down for 45 minutes is bliss for any mum even if you are being beaten up a bit.

26 weeks pregnant

Poor Lottie has had a really nasty virus this week and has been struggling to sleep, so I’m totally shattered. Yet I still wake up. Every. Two. Hours. To. Pee. How is this fair? I think it’s mother nature’s way of getting you ready for that newborn sleep deprivation. I could literally sleep standing up at the moment… But only for two hours, eh?

Heart burn is back with a vengeance at times. I had it really bad with Lottie, and she came out with a full head of hair, which proves the old wives’ tale about heart burn in pregnancy, so I am fully expecting another hairy baby come March. In fairness, it’s not as bad this time and only flairs up at night. Helpful with the sleep situation.

The most positive thing this week is that my hormones do seem to finally be calming down a bit. I have had the odd day this week where I haven’t cried. Progress. And also the odd day where I haven’t had a go at Mr M, so I think he is pretty pleased with this development too.

Bump is getting so big now, but I guess that’s kind of to be expected at 26 weeks pregnant, and seeing my feet is a struggle when standing up. My tummy button has very nearly popped too. So far, no stretch marks, but I’m so much bigger this time that I’m fully expecting them to appear at some point, so am rubbing cream in at every given opportunity.

And the cutest thing this last week or so, is Lottie hugging the bump. I realise she has no idea there’s a baby in there, but it’s just the most adorable thing and will never get old for me!

Ah, lovely. Heartburn is awful though, at least it disappears completely after the birth. Hope Lottie – and you – get better quickly. xx
