Hello

Well this seems a bit odd. Right now, I’m kind of writing to nobody, but my thinking is I need some content before I can start making blogging friends… So here goes.

It makes sense to me to start at the beginning with a bit about me.

I’m Katie, I’m 32, I live in Hertfordshire with my lovely husband, Mr M. We’ve been married about 18months now, so I guess we are still in the honeymoon period really.

We live in a rented flat at the moment and are looking to buy our first house together in the New Year. Erm, excited much?!

He’s an estate agent (I know, I know), and I’m a marketing manager and I’d say we’re both pretty happy in our jobs. We married in Italy in May 2013 and it was the best wedding ever, although I could be a bit biased! Great food, amazing friends and family, gorgeous wine and basically, it was a party weekender!

We met in 2010, and he says he knew he would marry me the first time he saw me. Bless him. I didn’t, but he grew on me pretty quickly. He proposed as the sunset in October the following year and the rest is history.

The other love of my life is Ben the horse. I bought Ben with an inheritance (much to my dad’s disgust) when I was 14 and Ben was 5. He’s pretty much been my best friend ever since (I do also have human friends – I’m not one of those people, don’t worry!) and he even came to Cardiff to university with me. He’s older, but not much wiser now, and he has arthritis, so we don’t do as much as we used to, but we still plod out on the weekends.

My parents live in a nearby village and are awesome! They’re both retired and loving it. My mum has Parkinson’s disease, but fights it with a strength and determination that would leave you in amazement. She is late 60s (sorry mum), and fighting this disgusting disease, but never complains, moans or lets it get her down. She still goes to pilates, aqua aerobics, book club, walks the dog every day – and she’s always the last person dancing at any party!

Dad’s pretty awesome too and has become a modern man in his retirement – learning to cook, clean, etc. He’s a gentle giant and one of the cleverest, funniest men I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet.

They’re also grandparents – my brother (the oldest) has two beautiful daughters, and my sister has one. That puts me well and truly off the hook with the grandparents for now.

So that’s me in a nutshell and I guess now I can get cracking with the daily posts and the pics. I’ll be back soon…
