An ordinary week

I struggled to think of a word to sum up this week at first, as nothing has really happened, life has carried on and we have been fairly quiet, but it’s been a really nice week. And then I realised that with so many lovely occasions such as my baby shower, a wedding, birthday parties, Britmums, it’s been a pretty hectic last month or so.

And that’s been great, but it’s been equally super nice to get back to just being:

Last weekend, Mr M was off and the weather was stunning, so we headed out for a wander into town along the river behind our flats and stumbled across a regatta, which was part of our town’s carnival and was just lovely.

The carnival then went through town before we stopped for a few drinks by the river.

Sunday found us in Mothercare looking for a car seat, getting ridiculously confused and leaving with a teddy bear. Less said about that the better, but we did have a giggle about how much we still have to learn in this parenting journey!

Despite doing nothing out of the ordinary over the weekend, it was just so lovely to have some time with Mr M. It’s been me and him for a long time now and he really is my best friend and my soulmate. Very soon, there is going to be a Little R-M in our lives, which I cannot wait for. But I am banking the last moments as just the two of us in my memory while I can.

The rest of the week has followed the ordinary pattern and it’s been lovely. I went back to pregnancy yoga, which I haven’t managed to get to for a few weeks, due to the heatwave and a work do. It was lovely to catch up with everyone’s progress and I do love the relaxation at the end – so nice to empty your mind and totally chill out.

Yesterday I was back in Mothercare, but this time with my mum, her mummy experience and a list. Which led to a much more productive trip. We hadn’t realised there was a sale on and managed to get all the last bits for Little R-M, pretty much all at half the original price. I do love a bargain.

Mr M has been at work all weekend, so today would usually have been a day of riding for me, but at 36 weeks pregnant, I didn’t think that was such a good plan, so I spent a few hours at the yard having a tidy up and giving Ben a spa session, which he LOVED. He’s had a tail wash, feet painted, a good old groom and trim up and he looks gorgeous!

I really miss riding and the freedom it gives me and cannot wait to get back in the saddle, but spending some time with my favourite horse scratched my horsey itch a little bit.

Ordinary can sometimes be just what you need, can’t it? Glad it’s been a good week, especially with those bargains, too. And Ben does look lovely x Thanks for sharing with #WotW
