All about the blogger: Jade’s Journey

This is the first post in a new monthly series – All about the blogger. Each month, will be a different topic and a different blogger to read about. All the posts in the series will be linked up with Deep in Mummy Matters and Big Family Organised Chaos. So once you’ve read all about Jade from Jade’s Journey below, head over there if you want to find out more about other bloggers.

Over to Jade, who blogs at Jade’s Journey

Hello I’m Jade a 28 year old mum of two. My blog Jade’s Journey, started off with writing about my past, a sort of self help with no intention of many readers. I also talked about my son being born at 28 weeks again this more to help me than the others. Now my blog is lifestyle and parenting, my kids love to get involved and my son is an expert at reviewing things now. My fiancé likes to add his own thing every now and then as well. As we grow as a family my blog will change with us.

How would your best friend describe you?

My best friend would describe me by saying I’m a cheese, which means nothing and is simply something we used to say when we were teenagers. She would probably also say I’m a bit silly and she wouldn’t be wrong as I’m like a big kid, once the little kids are out of sight.

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

I love that there are no limits and that blogging can take you anywhere, I don’t mean just physical places but mentally too. You are free to write what you want and what you write can change your path.

If you could change anything about blogging, what would it be?

The events and awards. Everything is always in London. It is really frustrating as I would love to meet more bloggers and network but I live in Yorkshire and a trip to London is not cheap.

If you were invited to a Blogger’s Cocktail Party, which three bloggers would you invite and why?

I don’t know any other bloggers.

What is the best blogging tip you have been given?

Be true to you. There is no point in writing content that you don’t agree with and love, writing should be not just for the reader but for yourself as well.

When you aren’t blogging, where is your favourite place to visit for a day out?

We love Beamish, it’s an Open Museum set in the past. I love the place I like that it’s kind of like stepping into a time machine.

Tell us about your guilty pleasure.

The crime investigation channel. I can grab a cup of tea and some biscuits and just watch program after program, homicide hunter, on the case with Paula, 48 hours. What can I say I have an interest in crime.

If you knew you were going to be marooned on a desert island and could take three luxury items with you, what would they be?

Tent because I couldn’t cope with bugs flapping around me. Hand-held fan as I don’t do well in the heat and then a lighter so I could start a fire without rubbing sticks.

What was the last good book you read?

Every book I read is a good book. At the moment I’m trying to finish Poet Anderson but I don’t want it to end yet so I’m taking my time.

Describe your perfect date night?

Honestly once upon time it would of been all fancy but now a perfect date would be, a Chinese takeaway an hour of searching for something to watch on Netflix with chocolate and ice cream to snack on. Of course no kids at home.
