A week of preparation

So this week has very much been one of:

preparation

Having felt last week as though everything was getting on top of me a bit and that things were out of control, there were two things I could do to make myself feel a bit better. 1) Chill out a bit, which was well and truly achieved over the weekend, and 2) Get as much prepared as I could to make me feel in control of things again.

So, on Sunday, the preparation began as we headed over toย our storage unitย my mum and dad’s house and ‘built’ our pram. This had been on my mind as the boxes of pram had arrived some weeks previously and I didn’t want it to be a stressful situation having to build it at the last minute. I was ready for a heated discussion as is usually the case with flat-pack in the R-M household, but in fact, the iCandy pram we have chosen was one of the easiest things we have ever put together. It was up in about ten minutes flat to everyone’s surprise. I probably needn’t have worried about it after all, but it’s another thing ticked off the list.

I then spent Sunday evening ironing tiny baby clothes ย for our hospital bag. I mentioned this a while ago on Twitter and I think a lot of people thought I was going mad, but I just want everything to be perfect when little R-M arrives and after I’d washed them they were all crumpled and looked like I’d made no effort.

Sunday will see my non-baby shower take place, so I’ve spent the week ordering and making lots of bits and pieces to get ready for my girlie get together. I hope the sun comes out as it would be lovely to have it in my mum’s garden, but whatever the weather, it will be lovely to see all my favourite people and catch up before I become too tired and heavy to do much.

Just in case you were wondering. Still no house exchange. The people at the top of the chain have now decided to buy something else, having said they would vacate a few weeks ago. But I’m not letting that bother me. I remain positive! lol.

Oh bless you! I must admit to having a similar moment in mothercare when buying ours. I collapsed it but couldn’t get it back up and thought I had broken it! Lol xx

A non-baby shower sounds fun ๐Ÿ™‚ I remember ironing baby clothes with B – this time round I figured hanging them on the line got rid of the creases well enough ๐Ÿ˜‰ hehe xxx

It was fab! Haha, we don’t have a line, so they were pretty crumpled from the airer – I’m pretty sure it’s the last time I’ll ever do it though – I’m not a fan of ironing! ๐Ÿ˜‰ xx
